Private capital infrastructure
Quantitative infrastructure for private capital.
We build and run the trading system for our own book. This is what it looks like.
01 — About
A private family book, run like an institution.
Opal Capital Group was founded by a quantitative investor with a background in quantitative analysis and systems design, applying the same rigour to a private family trading book.
The book is Australian-domiciled (ACN 698 599 174) and self-directed. We are not a fund. We do not take external capital. We do not sell trading signals.
What we do — full-time — is build, test, and operate the infrastructure that lets a single-family book behave like a boutique quant shop: live position dashboards, morning briefs, multi-factor grading, structured exit hierarchies, and automated order pipelines.
This page is a public record of that infrastructure.
The stack
How we operate
01
Systems over discretion
Every decision governed by pre-committed rules, not in-the-moment judgment.
02
Built for one book
Purpose-built for a private family — not a productised platform for many.
03
Public infrastructure
The what is visible; the how is proprietary. Craft, not secret.
The dashboard
A live view of every open position across the book — accessible to invited clients via a secure investor portal. Prices pipe in from EODHD, pass through Supabase, and render on Vercel.

Daily intelligence scan
Every trading day at 06:30 AEST, a pipeline pulls Yahoo Finance data, Google Trends signals, and LangChain-synthesised market intelligence into a single brief: regime overlay, watchlist candidates, exit-target alerts, earnings blackouts.

05 — FAQ
Common questions.
- Who is this for?
- Family offices, private investors, and advisors who want institutional-grade infrastructure for their own book — but without the cost or overhead of building an in-house quant team.
- Do you manage third-party capital?
- No. Opal Capital Group manages its own capital only. We do not hold an AFSL and do not provide financial advice or portfolio management services.
- What does a custom build look like?
- Typically a scoped project: a live dashboard, a morning brief pipeline, or an automated exit-alert system. We scope, build, and hand over — either as a self-hosted stack or managed on your behalf.
- How do I get started?
- Email us at hello@opalcapitalgroup.com.au with a brief description of your book and what you are trying to automate. We will respond within two business days.
